Christian Censoring Attitude
#441234 / viewed 714 timesIt's an old theme, but one that reflects Merkel's personality well: At that time, she strongly advocated censorship in video games and films, because that's why (in her limited eyes) all the rampages took place in schools. Sure, the schools themselves are perfect, the classmates and teachers as well and there was no violence in front of the media, okay, the "lady" can believe what she wants. Prohibiting violence in fictional works, but maintaining conscription as long as that is something else, of course. BUT, after Germany's economy could not profit from the video game and film successes, because the crap (censored it is only crap) has become worthless and is offered abroad uncensored, the censors in Germany also see some violent works more relaxed. Typical U-turn by Merkel to go with the flow. The Venus de Milo is supposed to represent the great "Christian tradition" of censoring works, which I had to think of right away because of the C in the CDU. Neutering is a powerful image, of course, but that's what you do with stories (yes, video games tell stories too!) when you rob them of the shocking elements.
