Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Husaini al-Sistani; born approximately August 4, 1930. He is an Iranian born Grand Ayatollah, and Twelver Shi'a marja residing in Iraq since 1951. He is currently the preeminent Shi'a cleric in Iraq, as well as an important political figure in Post-invasion Iraq.
