Holy Tweets cartoon
#187812 / viewed 3904 timesNow that the pope Benedict XVI has joined Twitter, you can follow one more spiritual icon's messages, limited to 140 characters per tweet. Of course the pope is not the first top rated preacher on the popular social network. The Dalai Lama has been tweeting for years, and has seen his number of followers grow to over 5 Million people. Nevertheless, the Holy See has seen the followers of its leaders grow to over 750,000 people in just his first week on Twitter, despite not having sent out even one single tweet. One reason he may not have sent out any messages, is that it could take a long time to convert his long, handwritten messages into short messages that can be distributed effectively to his online audience.
