Mia dreaming
#305169 / viewed 3426 timesMs. Mia Merrill has launched an initiative to remove the painting 'Therese, dreaming' from an exhibition of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The request is impossible in the capital of the western world! The freedom of art is an essential right and everyone who trys to act against it commits an injustice.
Especially drawn, painted or formed artefacts can - by their nature - never be illegal.
If the complained of scene would be part of a movie its age rating would be determined not higher than 6 years. You may see an implicit pedophile message in the painting - but excitation of phantasy is the essence of art and, besides, not confined to art: The world is full of similar provocations!
The Louvre in Abu Dhabi has executed some kind of censoring (with respect to political and sexual messages) - we cannot critisize this and, at the same time, do the same!
